Wednesday 20 June 2018 marked a day of celebration for LloydsPharmacy, as three of our colleagues received awards at the prestigious Recognition of Excellence Awards at a ceremony in London.
The Recognition of Excellence Awards are run by industry magazine Training Matters and they are the only national awards exclusively for community pharmacy teams. They focus on one thing: rewarding hard-working and dedicated pharmacy support staff who go above and beyond the call of duty to support their customers, patients, pharmacies and communities.
A panel of industry experts were tasked with judging the nominations and the winners received their prize from rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson at a ceremony at the Dorchester on 20th June 2018.
The Infant Care Champion award was presented to Corinne Thomas from LloydsPharmacy in Sainsbury’s in Northwich, Cheshire. Corinne works as a Sales Assistant and through her experiences and dedication has built up a wealth of knowledge on infant food allergy and intolerance. Corinne often helps to advise parents on how to eliminate ingredients from a child’s diet and replace them with safer foods, in addition to offering advice on how to treat side effects of these conditions.
Harijt Kaur, OTC Lead in our Allestree, Derby store received an award for exceptional retail skills. After starting her LloydsPharmacy career five years’ ago in a voluntary position, Harj has progressed to the role of supervisor and has made a significant change to a number of stores that she has worked at within the company. In her current pharmacy, she has developed and engaged her team to help them surpass targets and offer outstanding services to customers and patients.
There was also a highly commended mention to Sophie Shanks from Buckley in the Rising Star category. Sophie was commended for her amazing work ethic and putting customers’ needs first in her role as a dispenser. Since joining the store two years ago, she has undergone substantial training and become a key member of the team, intuitively knowing what needs to be done every day, no matter the time.
