LloydsPharmacy launches Click and Collect service

LloydsPharmacy – part of healthcare provider Celesio UK – has launched a free next day delivery service that allows customers to ‘Click and Collect’ products by ordering from its website, LloydsPharmacy.com.

The service will allow customers to purchase P-med, GSL and over-the-counter products online before collecting from their chosen LloydsPharmacy free of charge. Orders made before 2pm will be available for collection by the following morning.

Claire Glassborow, Head of Online at Celesio UK, said: “No two shoppers are the same and whether it’s in-pharmacy or online, people expect and appreciate choice and flexibility to customise their entire purchasing journey. Our focus is on ensuring that this is as easy and enjoyable for our customers as possible whilst also enhancing our online retailing capability.

“The addition of Click and Collect gives shoppers the ability to choose a service to suit their needs, alongside our traditional home delivery option and LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor service, which are already proving extremely valuable for our customers.

“Aside from enjoying the benefits of free collection, customers using the Click and Collect service will be able to access free and impartial face-to-face expert advice about products and conditions such as skin care and pain management from the dedicated consultants in each of our 1,600 local community pharmacies.”

Cormac Tobin, Managing Director at Celesio UK, said: “The introduction of Click and Collect is just one way in which we are modernising our services to meet the changing needs and lifestyles of our customers. It’s important people can access healthcare in a way which is convenient to them and now they can choose from online, in-store or a combination of both.

“Providing an omni-channel offering is a key priority for us and since LloydsPharmacy started to work more closely with its sister companies, such as AAH Pharmaceuticals, we have been able to maximise our capabilities to benefit customers and patients. The Click and Collect service is an excellent example of this collaborative working as deliveries will be made by the distribution division of AAH Pharmaceuticals, which already supplies pharmacies with products twice a day.”

The service launched during August and is currently available at LloydsPharmacy outlets in the South-East of England, with a planned roll-out to the entire LloydsPharmacy estate across the UK by the end of the year.

In order to safeguard customer safety, those purchasing sensitive P-med medications will be asked basic questions about their health, which will be reviewed by an independent pharmacist. Products such as pain medication will be limited by number of packets purchased.
