LloydsPharmacy will donate 1% of all Black Friday sales to its charity partners Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland.
The Black Friday promotion runs from Sunday 20th November through to Monday 28th and includes discounts on a number of selected products that are available both online and in-store. Every purchase made by customers on Black Friday lines across these nine days will be donated to the dementia charities.
Managing director of Celesio UK, which includes LloydsPharmacy, Cormac Tobin commented: “This is a perfect way for us to show our commitment to our charity partnership. Fighting against dementia is a cause that is so close to our hearts and the hearts of our customers and we’re delighted to be in a position to show our support in this way.”
The money raised by LloydsPharmacy goes to support people living with dementia and their carers to create a better quality of life for those affected by the condition. Fundraising is invaluable to the work of Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland in helping them to provide information and support, fund innovative research, and offer vital services.
Mr. Tobin continues: “We now know that dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK, and alarmingly it’s still a misunderstood, underappreciated condition. As a community pharmacy network, with a team of expert health professionals, we’re in a great position to connect with our customers and patients that have concerns about dementia or may be living with the condition.”
Celesio UK is also a proud supporter of Dementia Friends, an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which is designed to increase knowledge and understanding of dementia. To date, Celesio UK has over 4,200 employees signed up as Dementia Friends.
