AAH team goes the extra mile for Alzheimer’s Society

Warehouse team in Tamworth cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End and back again to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society.

Colleagues at our Tamworth AAH Warehouse raised an incredible £1113.75 for our charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society as part of Dementia Awareness Week (15-21 May).

This is another great example of how our passionate and inspired colleagues, from all over the business, are helping to raise awareness and money – to help fight against dementia and support those living with the condition.

Branch Manager Brian Moss at AAH commented: “I’m immensely proud of our team and in all they covered a distance of 1874 miles! We are all very moved by the efforts of Alzheimer’s Society, particularly the support it delivers our customers, patients and families, so we were keen to get involved and help make a difference.

“Our team is an active and competitive bunch who loves to get involved especially when it results in money raised for such worthy causes.  I hope the team’s experience encourages more colleagues to participate in excellent fundraising activities.”

Alzheimer’s Society exists to provide vital information and support to those affected by dementia, and campaigns for a better quality of life for those living with the condition. The charity also funds medical and social research, and strives for a greater understanding of dementia.

We’ve been working in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Scotland since 2015. This is an extension of our preceding and ongoing commitment to the Dementia Friends initiative which we’ve also supported for nearly two years.

The Dementia Friends initiative has already seen over 4,000 colleagues at Celesio UK; including LloydsPharmacy store teams attend information sessions in order to better assist those affected by dementia directly within their communities by becoming a Dementia Friend.
