AAH supports Healthy Living Pharmacy initiative

AAH Pharmaceuticals is partnering with Pharmacy Complete to deliver Health Champion and Leadership training that will help independent pharmacies meet the Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) quality criteria.

The offering comes as part of the wholesaler’s ongoing support for pharmacy contractors to ensure they maximise their share of the Quality Payment scheme and help them be fit for the future.

Commenting on the training programmes, Dawn Williams, head of customer development at Celesio UK said: “The Healthy Living Pharmacy quality criteria is now embedded within the community pharmacy contractual framework and promotes and delivers the health and wellbeing services that are available to local communities.

“Our Complete HLP pack includes leadership coaching which is designed to engage the whole pharmacy team to develop a healthy living ethos in the pharmacy for the community. Our customers can access the training remotely, at their own convenience and will learn a number of key skills that will support them to become a Healthy Living Pharmacy. The pack also includes a Health Champion course for one team member plus cards to further develop their knowledge and skills.”

Commenting on the partnership, Deborah Evans, managing director at Pharmacy Complete said: “Our continued involvement in developing the HLP concept from the very beginning, including the award-winning national HLP pathfinder programme, means that we remain very close to the development of the concept both nationally and internationally.

“We believe HLPs have the power to improve the nation’s health and provides a foundation for a sustainable future for pharmacy.

“The complete pack contains everything a pharmacy needs to work through to self-assessment and declaration including the mandatory training requirements to become a HLP Leader and Health Champion.

“We have also included a Complete HLP portfolio workbook to ensure all Quality Criteria requirements are met, cards to facilitate sensitive conversations and support development of local campaigns, health promotions and the creation of a Healthy Living Zone. Everything is contained within a portfolio box to keep all evidence in one place.”
