Cormac Tobin, Managing Director at Celesio UK, including LloydsPharmacy.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how much we’ve changed at Celesio UK over the past two years. I briefly mentioned the success of Betterlife – our ‘independent living’ offering, which helps people to better manage everyday tasks.
A few days later, I was thrilled to see the Betterlife team win Store Design of the Year at the Oracle Retail Week Awards.
This week, Betterlife expanded further with the opening of its second bricks and mortar store near Birmingham. The same, award-winning design is used as in our Leeds store, with realistic living environments created within kitchen, bedroom, living, and bathroom room sets. Customers can also drive a mobility scooter on a purpose built track.
The response from customers has been really positive with a sales increase of more than 200 per cent, showing that we’re offering products people need and want in a way they like to shop.
More important are the transformations that the Betterlife team has made in little over six months. They have developed a successful omnichannel business, where customers can browse and buy in a store environment that meets their needs, click and collect in-store – or shop exclusively online.
I’m extremely proud of the Betterlife team – and excited to offer more customers a range of products that can truly enhance their lives in such an innovative retail space.
